Ready. Set. Shop – how to find your dream home

This is the fun part. Narrow down locations that are desirable. Unless you’re under the gun time-wise, look at as many homes as possible to get a sense of what’s available. Don’t rush into buying if you don’t have to.

Find a good real estate agent to represent you in the search and negotiation process. Go into exhaustive detail when describing what you want in a home. It’s the job of the REALTOR to then keep those goals and desires at the forefront in your quest to find the perfect home. Determine your monthly mortgage payment budget and how much house you can afford. A prequel will let your real estate agent understand what type of home or property is within your price range. Knowing this helps your real estate agent determine which properties to show you, and it helps you make the best use of your time.

Once you have found the right home for you – make an offer. Include earnest money with your offer. Once you sign an offer, you are officially committed to buy the house. If you back out a this point for any reason other than the fact that you can’t get the final formal approval for your mortgage loan, then you are in jeopardy of losing your deposit. Once we provide you with the formal loan approval and outline any conditions required to close your loan, we make the arrangements for your financing and outline steps to close your mortgage loan.
